The Second Brain:
Why Gut Health & Neurodiversity Are Connected.

What you eat affects how you think, feel, and regulate. We go beyond behavioral coping to address the bi-directional communication highway between your brain, your nervous system, and your gut.

01

The Enteric Nervous System

The gut is often called the 'second brain' because it contains its own extensive nervous system: the enteric nervous system. This network of neurons lines the digestive tract and constantly communicates with the brain via the vagus nerve, the largest bi-directional communication highway in the body. When the gut is inflamed, sluggish, or overactive, it sends distress signals upward that shape mood, focus, anxiety, and sensory tolerance.

02

Why ND Brains Experience High Intolerances & Allergies

Neurodivergent brains are more likely to live in a state of chronic sensory overwhelm and stress, which keeps cortisol elevated for longer periods. This chronic stress response misdirects signalling to the digestive tract, increasing gut permeability, inflammation, and hypersensitivity. It is one reason Autistic and ADHD individuals experience disproportionately high rates of food allergies, IBS, coeliac disease, histamine intolerance, and other digestive conditions.

03

Repairing the Communication Loop

Calming the nervous system and optimising biological intake work together. Our Peace PODs, regulation tools, and breathwork reduce the false alarm signals travelling up the vagus nerve. When paired with nutritional support that addresses the root biological drivers, the brain and gut can return to clearer, more stable communication, improving mood, focus, energy, and physical comfort.

Test-Based Nutrition Partnership

Eliminate Guesswork with Test-Based Nutrition.

We don't guess what your body needs. Through scientific nutritional testing paired with nervous system regulation, we restore gut-brain balance for improved mood, focus, and physical relief.

Mood stability

Reduced anxiety and irritability

Cognitive clarity

Better focus and mental energy

Physical relief

Less bloating, pain, and discomfort
